I’m Em and once you meet me, it doesn’t take long to learn that I’ve got a cynical sense of humor and a penchant for good music and white wine.
When I’m not at my day-job, eating every carb in sight, or trying to wrangle my head full of moppy curls, I’ve likely got my face about two inches from a chalkboard or sidewalk agonizing over ALL the details.
You know what I love about chalkboards? I love how familiar and comfortable they are. I love how their very presence brings a sense of warmth and cordiality to a space. I love their dusty look and dustier feel. I feel like chalkboards have built-in nostalgia. They’re kind of magical.

As a chalk artist, I work on both chalkboards and sidewalks. I have a highly-stylized and meticulously detailed aesthetic that is perfect for clients who value one-of-a-kind, dimensional artwork with a vintage vibe. I pride myself in using traditional materials (actual chalk, not chalk markers) to create custom signage and statement pieces that are unique in design for both businesses and individuals. I do a lot of hand lettering and calligraphy and really enjoy customizing with botanical illustrations and elaborate scrollwork as well as custom portraits.
